Job Description
Illovo Sugar Africa is seeking a results-driven Area Sales Manager to oversee FMCG product distribution and retail sales operations across Mzuzu and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will play a critical role in strengthening Illovo’s market presence, expanding distribution channels, and increasing sales performance for its sugar and related consumer products.
The Area Sales Manager will work closely with distributors, wholesalers, and retail partners to ensure consistent product availability and effective merchandising. The position requires a proactive professional with strong leadership skills, market awareness, and the ability to implement sales strategies that support long-term revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement territory sales strategies to achieve regional sales targets
Manage and support distributor networks and retail partnerships
Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify business opportunities
Monitor sales KPIs, revenue growth, and territory performance metrics
Coordinate trade promotions and marketing campaigns
Identify new customer acquisition opportunities and market segments
Ensure product availability and merchandising standards in retail outlets
Prepare sales forecasts, reports, and market insights
Train sales representatives and distributor teams to improve product knowledge and sales effectiveness
Required Skills
