Salary: MWK 4,500,000 – 7,500,000 per month

Job Summary

National Bank of Malawi Plc is seeking an experienced Chief Auditor – IT/Forensic Audit to lead technology audits, cyber risk reviews, fraud investigations, regulatory compliance assessments, and enterprise risk assurance initiatives. The role will provide strategic oversight across information systems, digital banking platforms, cybersecurity controls, and forensic investigations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop annual IT and forensic audit plans.
  • Lead investigations involving fraud, cyber incidents, and financial irregularities.
  • Assess cybersecurity governance and information security controls.
  • Evaluate digital banking systems and technology infrastructure.
  • Review compliance with banking regulations and international standards.
  • Conduct forensic data analysis and evidence collection.
  • Present audit findings to senior executives and the Board.
  • Supervise audit teams and external consultants.
  • Recommend control improvements and monitor implementation.
  • Support enterprise risk management initiatives.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), CISA, CFE, or equivalent certification required.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of audit experience.
  • At least 5 years in IT Audit or Forensic Audit leadership.
  • Banking or financial services experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and fraud risk management.
