I hold a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, a Master of Business Administration specialising in Production and Operations Management, and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering – Structures (Honours). With vast progressive professional experience in civil engineering and infrastructure development, I have gained extensive expertise in construction management, project planning, supervision, contract administration, quality assurance, budget control, monitoring and evaluation, and stakeholder coordination.
My experience involves a wide range of infrastructure projects, including roads, commercial and residential buildings, bridges, irrigation and water supply schemes funded by NGOs and government institutions, WASH infrastructure projects in rural and urban communities, the construction of a hydropower station, and the development of a petroleum storage reserve in Botswana. I currently serve as Chief Structural Engineer under the Infrastructure Management Unit at the Ministry of Lands in Malawi, where I am involved in managing the construction of 10,000 houses for security institutions and supporting other major government infrastructure initiatives.
Through these assignments, I have developed strong technical and managerial capabilities in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget, and according to required standards and specifications. I am experienced in coordinating multidisciplinary teams, supervising contractors and consultants, conducting site inspections, preparing technical reports, managing construction materials, resolving technical challenges, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality standards.
In addition, I understand the importance of accountability, transparency, safeguarding, and community engagement in humanitarian and development projects. Work & Experience
I am responsible for the design and Construction supervision of the 10,000 security institutions' housing project and its associated external works, including the construction of roads, bridges, and culverts in different locations, as well as other government infrastructure projects.
Design and supervision of roads, culverts, bridges, drainage structures, and other road infrastructure projects in Kasungu division, i.e., Nkhotakota, Kasungu, Dowa, Ntchisi, and Mwanza districts.
Building and civil engineering works for the development of t h e Ghanzi government petroleum reserve storage depot in Botswana.
Orchestrated the construction of different irrigation and water supply schemes, which included weirs, dams, canals, overhead bridges, culverts and dykes, construction of school blocks, hospital maternity wings, residential and industrial buildings, concrete water tanks, and building maintenance works funded by the government and different NGOs such as World Vision Malawi and Water for People.
Involved and facilitated the upgrading and rehabilitation of Nkula A Hydropower Plant and its associated buildings, a Millennium Challenge Account (MCA) project, the construction of the Shire North Railway Bridge that was funded by CEAR, and rehabilitation works for existing railway lines and bridges.
