Job Overview

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst will support Glencore’s procurement function by developing and executing sourcing strategies that drive cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and supplier innovation for critical mining inputs. The analyst will work closely with operations, engineering, finance, and legal teams to ensure alignment with corporate objectives and compliance with local regulations. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing supplier relationships, optimizing spend, and delivering measurable value across the supply chain. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct market analysis and supplier benchmarking for mining consumables, equipment, and services.
• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans that achieve cost savings and improve supplier performance.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and RFIs, evaluate proposals, and negotiate contracts in line with Glencore’s policies.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define specifications, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs, manage supplier risk, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate spend data, sourcing documentation, and compliance records in the ERP system.
• Support sustainability initiatives by integrating ESG criteria into supplier selection and evaluation.
• Provide regular reporting on sourcing activities, savings, and market trends to senior management.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel, PowerBI or similar tools.
• Excellent negotiation and influencing abilities.
• Knowledge of mining industry supply chains and commodity markets.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management across multicultural teams.
• Familiarity with ERP procurement modules (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or PMP are highly regarded.

Experience

Minimum of 3‑5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably within the mining or heavy‑industry sector. Demonstrated track record of delivering cost savings and managing complex supplier relationships is essential.

Salary

The annual compensation package ranges from SSP 800,000 to SSP 1,200,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
