Job Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and empathetic E-commerce UX Researcher to join our growing digital team in Mzuzu. This role is critical to our mission of optimizing the user journey on our platform. You will be responsible for understanding user behaviors, pain points, and motivations through various qualitative and quantitative research methods. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct usability testing sessions with diverse user groups to identify friction points in the checkout and browsing processes.
- Design and execute qualitative research studies, including user interviews, field studies, and diary studies.
- Analyze quantitative data from heatmaps, clickstream data, and A/B testing results to validate design hypotheses.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and UI Designers to translate research findings into actionable design requirements.
- Develop user personas and journey maps that represent the diverse demographic of our Malawian customer base.
- Present research insights to stakeholders through compelling storytelling and data visualization.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in qualitative research methodologies such as contextual inquiry and semi-structured interviewing.
- Strong ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into user-centric design solutions.
- Expertise in using research tools such as Hotjar, Google Analytics, or UserTesting.com.
- Excellent communication skills to present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- A deep understanding of mobile-first design principles and e-commerce user flows.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Cognitive Psychology, Anthropology, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in User Experience Research are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess 3 to 5 years of professional experience in UX research, specifically within a digital product or e-commerce environment. Proven experience in managing end-to-end research projects from planning to reporting is essential. Salary
