Job Overview
The Senior Nuclear Power Plant Operator will play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of our advanced energy facilities. This position involves overseeing complex reactor systems, monitoring real-time data, and ensuring all operational protocols meet the highest international safety standards. This is a high-responsibility role that requires a deep understanding of nuclear physics, thermal hydraulics, and automated control systems. You will be responsible for managing reactor startup, steady-state operations, and shutdown procedures, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to maintain plant integrity. This role is essential for ensuring continuous power supply and maintaining the highest levels of public safety and environmental protection.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control reactor core parameters to ensure safe and efficient power generation.
- Execute complex startup, shutdown, and emergency shutdown procedures according to strict protocols.
- Analyze real-time telemetry and sensor data to predict and prevent potential system deviations.
- Lead and mentor junior operators during high-stakes operational shifts.
- Collaborate with maintenance engineers to schedule and oversee system inspections and repairs.
- Maintain meticulous logs of all operational activities and safety compliance metrics.
- Ensure all operations adhere to international nuclear regulatory standards and local environmental laws.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in nuclear reactor kinetics and thermal-hydraulic principles.
- Expertise in operating Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
- Exceptional analytical skills for interpreting complex technical data under pressure.
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities in high-stress environments.
- Deep understanding of radiation protection and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with technical and regulatory teams.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a closely related engineering discipline is mandatory. Post-graduate studies or specialized certifications in nuclear operations are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in power plant operations, with at least 5 years specifically within a nuclear facility. Proven experience in managing large-scale energy systems and leading technical teams is essential for success in this role.
Salary
The competitive salary for this position ranges from 4,500,000 SSP to 7,200,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and technical expertise.
