Job Overview

The Aviation Safety Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring Ethiopian Airlines’ operations in Malawi adhere to the highest safety standards. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive safety audits of flight operations, maintenance activities, and ground handling processes at Ntcheu Airport.
• Analyze safety data, incident reports, and trend analyses to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with pilots, engineers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with ICAO Annexes and Malawi Civil Aviation regulations.
• Develop and update safety policies, procedures, and manuals specific to regional operations.
• Facilitate safety training sessions and workshops for crew and ground staff, promoting a proactive safety mindset.
• Prepare detailed safety performance reports for senior management and external auditors.
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the airline’s Safety Management System (SMS) in alignment with global best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in safety data analysis tools and statistical software.
• In‑depth knowledge of ICAO standards, Safety Management Systems, and local aviation regulations.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Education

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Engineering, Safety Management, or a closely related field. Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Aviation Safety Management System (SMS) certification are highly desirable.

Experience

A minimum of five years of experience in aviation safety, regulatory compliance, or a related discipline is required. Experience working within an airline environment, conducting safety audits, and interacting with civil aviation authorities will be considered a strong advantage.

Salary

The successful candidate will receive a competitive annual salary ranging from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary reviews are conducted annually based on performance and market benchmarks.
