Job Overview

The Education Policy Analyst will lead research, analysis, and formulation of policies that enhance the quality and equity of education in Malawi. Reporting to the Senior Director of Policy & Planning, the analyst will work closely with stakeholders including schools, universities, civil society, donor agencies, and other government ministries. The position involves translating data and evidence into actionable policy recommendations, drafting strategic documents, and monitoring the implementation of education reforms. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive research on national and international education trends, best practices, and policy impacts.
• Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to assess the effectiveness of existing education programs and identify gaps.
• Develop policy briefs, white papers, and strategic plans that address priority areas such as curriculum reform, teacher professional development, and equitable resource allocation.
• Collaborate with regional education offices, NGOs, and donor partners to ensure alignment of policy initiatives with on‑the‑ground implementation.
• Monitor and evaluate the rollout of new policies, preparing regular progress reports for senior leadership and parliamentary committees.
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops, focus groups, and public consultations to gather input and build consensus.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, SPSS, R).

Education

Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in education policy analysis, research, or a related field within the public sector, international development agencies, or reputable think‑tanks. Experience working in Malawi or other Sub‑Saharan African contexts is advantageous.
