Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for country operations.
• Develop and execute annual and multi-year country strategies.
• Manage large-scale development and humanitarian programs.
• Lead senior management teams across operations, finance, HR, logistics, and programs.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations and organizational policies.
• Build and maintain relationships with government ministries, donors, UN agencies, and development partners.
• Oversee annual budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.

• Strengthen risk management, governance, and internal control systems.

About the Role

The Country Manager will serve as the primary representative of the organization in Malawi and will be responsible for delivering organizational objectives while ensuring long-term sustainability and measurable impact.

Education Requirements

• Master’s Degree in International Development, Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Management, Political Science, or related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline is mandatory.
• Executive Leadership certifications are highly desirable.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of progressive management experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience managing large donor-funded projects.
• Experience working in Africa within international NGOs, UN agencies, or multinational organizations.
• Strong financial management and operational leadership experience.
• Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and partnership development.
