Job Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our projects in Malawi, ensuring that they are implemented efficiently and effectively. The Operations Manager will report to the Country Director and will be responsible for managing a team of project staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project operational plans and budgets
  • Manage and supervise project staff, including providing guidance and support
  • Ensure that projects are implemented in accordance with donor requirements and organizational policies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, local communities, and project partners
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for corrective action

Required Skills

  • Strong background in operations management, with experience in the agriculture sector
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for corrective action

Education

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as business administration, management, or agriculture.

Experience

At least 5 years of experience in operations management, with experience in the agriculture sector.

Salary

The salary for this position is MWK 500,000 – 800,000 per month, depending on experience.
