Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Logistics Fleet Manager to join our growing operations team in Blantyre. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of our transport fleet, ensuring maximum efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. The successful candidate will manage a large fleet of vehicles, optimize routing, and lead a team of drivers and technicians to meet our rigorous service level agreements. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic fleet management plans to optimize vehicle utilization and reduce operational costs.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair schedules for all fleet vehicles to ensure maximum uptime and safety compliance.
- Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle tracking data, and driver performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, including fuel suppliers, maintenance workshops, and insurance providers.
- Ensure strict adherence to all national transport regulations and international safety standards.
- Lead, mentor, and train a diverse team of drivers and logistics coordinators.
- Analyze logistics data to provide actionable insights for senior management regarding fleet performance and budget management.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to handle complex logistical challenges.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with a focus on performance optimization.
- In-depth understanding of Malawian transport laws and international logistics standards.
- Exceptional communication skills for interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certifications in Fleet Management or Logistics Operations are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in fleet management or logistics operations, preferably within a large-scale international logistics firm. Proven experience in managing large vehicle fleets and leading teams is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 850,000 SSP to 1,200,000 SSP, depending on experience and qualifications.
