Job Overview

The Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and hybrid systems. Reporting to the Regional Director of Renewable Energy, you will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure projects meet technical, financial, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for renewable energy installations.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams including engineers, procurement specialists, and local contractors to achieve project milestones.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and risk analyses to ensure project viability.
  • Secure permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals in compliance with Malawian energy laws.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement with government agencies, local communities, and international partners.
  • Monitor project performance, prepare progress reports, and adjust strategies to meet targets.
  • Ensure health, safety, and environmental standards are upheld throughout project lifecycle.
  • Drive cost‑optimization initiatives and identify financing opportunities.

Experience

Applicants must have a minimum of eight years of progressive experience managing renewable energy projects of 10 MW or larger, preferably within Sub‑Saharan Africa. Demonstrated success in delivering projects on time and within budget, as well as experience navigating regulatory frameworks in Malawi, is essential.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 30,000,000 to SSP 45,000,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
