Job Overview
As a Telecom Infrastructure Project Manager, you will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of critical telecommunications projects that expand network reach and improve service quality across Malawi. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, local authorities, and external partners to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, resources, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee subcontractor performance.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide regular status reports to senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and Huawei’s quality guidelines.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication, including community engagement and government liaison.
Required Skills
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of telecom standards, fiber optics, and wireless technologies.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is highly desirable.
Experience
Minimum of five years managing large‑scale telecom infrastructure projects, preferably in emerging markets. Experience with network rollout, tower construction, or fiber deployment is essential.
Salary
Competitive salary ranging from SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
