Job Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager will lead the Mwanza operations, overseeing end‑to‑end freight handling, warehouse management, and transportation coordination. This role is pivotal in ensuring that shipments are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager will collaborate closely with sales, customer service, and finance teams to deliver seamless logistics solutions that meet client expectations and drive business growth.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for optimizing operational workflows, implementing technology solutions, and fostering a high‑performance culture. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
• Manage transportation planning, carrier selection, and route optimization to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export documentation, and local trade laws.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on‑time delivery, inventory accuracy, and cost per shipment.
• Lead a team of supervisors, coordinators, and operational staff, providing coaching, performance reviews, and career development.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other process‑enhancement methodologies.
• Coordinate with sales and customer service to address client inquiries, resolve issues, and improve service levels.
• Maintain safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to occupational health and safety policies.
• Prepare operational budgets, forecast resource needs, and manage cost control measures.
• Collaborate with IT to integrate warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS) for real‑time visibility.

Education

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in logistics operations, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial role. Experience in a multinational logistics environment and familiarity with African trade corridors are preferred.

Salary

The compensation package ranges from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and pension contributions.
