Job Overview

The Agricultural Finance Officer will be responsible for developing, structuring, and managing loan portfolios that cater specifically to the agricultural value chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate loan applications from smallholder farmers, agribusinesses, and cooperatives, conducting thorough credit analysis and risk assessment.
  • Perform on‑site farm visits to verify collateral, assess production practices, and validate financial projections.
  • Design customized financing solutions, including seasonal loans, input financing, and equipment leasing, that match agricultural cycles.
  • Collaborate with agronomists, insurance partners, and market experts to incorporate technical insights into credit decisions.
  • Monitor loan performance, manage arrears, and implement restructuring strategies to mitigate default risk.
  • Prepare detailed credit reports and present recommendations to the Credit Committee for approval.
  • Support the development of agricultural financial products and contribute to the bank’s product innovation roadmap.
  • Promote financial literacy among clients through workshops and one‑on‑one counseling sessions.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in financial modeling and risk assessment.
  • In‑depth understanding of agricultural production cycles, input markets, and value‑chain dynamics.

Education
