Job Overview
The Asset Management Officer will be responsible for overseeing the performance of investment portfolios, conducting rigorous financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and monitor the performance of assigned asset portfolios, ensuring alignment with risk‑adjusted return targets.
- Develop and implement investment strategies based on macro‑economic research, market trends, and client objectives.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, performance dashboards, and investment recommendations for senior management.
- Conduct credit assessments, due diligence, and valuation of potential investment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, internal policies, and international best practices.
- Collaborate with the Treasury, Credit, and Risk Management teams to optimize capital allocation.
- Maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, corporate clients, and external advisors.
- Participate in the development of new financial products and services tailored to the Malawian market.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and portfolio analysis.
- Strong understanding of Malawi’s banking regulations, capital markets, and investment landscape.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or CPA are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in asset management, investment analysis, or related financial services. Experience within the African banking sector, particularly in Malawi or neighboring countries, will be viewed favorably.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and incentives are also part of the remuneration package.
