Job Overview

The Cloud Solutions Engineer will design, implement, and optimize cloud‑based solutions for Microsoft’s enterprise customers in Malawi and the broader Southern Africa region. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy end‑to‑end Azure solutions that meet customer performance, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, cost‑optimization analyses, and performance tuning for existing workloads.
  • Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to develop technical proposals, proof‑of‑concepts, and solution demos.
  • Provide hands‑on guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and partners during implementation phases.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, reference architectures, and best‑practice guides.
  • Stay current with Azure service updates, industry trends, and emerging cloud technologies to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in local tech community events, workshops, and webinars to promote cloud adoption in Malawi.

Required Skills

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS offerings.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation tools such as PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, identity management, and governance in cloud environments.
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a customer‑centric mindset.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate) are highly desirable.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or specialized cloud certifications will be considered an advantage and may influence compensation.

Experience
