Job Overview
The Insurance Claims Analyst will be responsible for evaluating, processing and managing insurance claims in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements and best industry practices. Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess incoming insurance claims for completeness, accuracy and compliance with policy terms.
- Conduct thorough investigations, including gathering statements, medical reports, police reports and other relevant documentation.
- Analyze claim data using internal systems and external databases to determine liability and appropriate settlement amounts.
- Communicate claim decisions clearly and professionally to policyholders, brokers and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with external adjusters, legal counsel and service providers to facilitate claim resolution.
- Maintain detailed records of claim investigations, decisions and payments in the company’s claims management system.
- Identify trends and potential fraud indicators, escalating suspicious cases to the Fraud Prevention Unit.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of claims handling procedures and policies.
- Participate in regular training sessions and industry seminars to stay updated on regulatory changes and best practices.
- Contribute to the achievement of departmental KPIs, including turnaround time, accuracy rate and customer satisfaction scores.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Sound knowledge of insurance principles, policy wording and regulatory environment in Malawi.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Law or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
Experience
Applicants should have 2‑4 years of hands‑on experience in insurance claims processing, preferably within the life, health or motor insurance lines. Experience with digital claims platforms and exposure to regulatory compliance in Malawi will be considered a strong asset.
Salary
The position offers a competitive salary range of SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and annual salary reviews are part of the compensation package.
