Job Overview
The Senior Commercial Real Estate Analyst will play a critical role in our investment advisory division. This position involves conducting deep-market research, performing complex financial modeling, and providing strategic recommendations for large-scale commercial developments. As a senior member of the team, you will bridge the gap between raw data and actionable investment intelligence. You will work closely with senior partners to shape the investment strategy for retail, office, and industrial spaces across the country. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research and feasibility studies for new commercial developments.
- Develop complex discounted cash flow (DCF) models and sensitivity analyses for property acquisitions.
- Prepare detailed investment memos and presentations for institutional investors and stakeholders.
- Monitor macroeconomic trends and local regulatory changes affecting the real estate sector.
- Collaborate with property managers to analyze asset performance and optimize rental yields.
- Provide strategic advice on asset repositioning and capital expenditure requirements.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques (Argus or Excel).
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate law and zoning regulations.
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative reasoning abilities.
- Superior communication and presentation skills for high-level stakeholder engagement.
- In-depth knowledge of the Malawian commercial property market and economic indicators.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Education
A Master of Science in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or Civil Engineering may be considered if accompanied by significant professional experience in real estate investment.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial real estate analysis, investment banking, or property asset management. Proven experience in managing large-scale portfolios or advising institutional clients is highly desirable. Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 1,200,000 SSP to 1,800,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience and technical expertise. This package is competitive within the local market and reflects the seniority of the role.
