Job Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Customs Brokerage Specialist to join our growing operations in Blantyre. This role is critical for ensuring that all international shipments entering or leaving Malawi comply with local and international customs regulations. The successful candidate will act as a primary liaison between the company, clients, and government authorities, ensuring that all documentation is accurate and all duties are correctly calculated. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the end-to-end customs clearance process for diverse cargo types.
- Ensure strict adherence to Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) regulations and international trade laws.
- Prepare and verify complex shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, and Commercial Invoices.
- Liaise with customs officials to resolve discrepancies and expedite the release of shipments.
- Advise clients on tariff classifications, duty rates, and regulatory requirements to prevent delays.
- Monitor changes in international trade policies and implement necessary procedural updates.
- Conduct regular audits of brokerage files to ensure 100% compliance and accuracy.
Required Skills
- Expert knowledge of Harmonized System (HS) codes and tariff classifications.
- Advanced proficiency in customs management software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills for calculating duties, taxes, and levies accurately.

Education
A Bachelor’s Degree in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related business discipline is mandatory. Professional certification in Customs Brokerage or International Freight Forwarding is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of direct experience in customs brokerage or international freight forwarding. Proven experience working with the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) and a deep understanding of regional trade agreements (SADC, COMESA) is essential. We are looking for a professional who has successfully managed high-volume shipments in a fast-paced environment.
Salary
