Job Overview
This role supports HealthBridge’s mission by analyzing public health data to inform policy decisions and program design. The position is based in Zomba and reports directly to the Regional Research Director. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in statistical analysis and public health systems. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze public health datasets from government and partner organizations.
- Develop visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with local health authorities to identify data gaps and improve data collection systems.
- Support the design of health interventions using predictive modeling techniques.
- Present findings at national and international health conferences.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in statistical software (R, Python, or SPSS).
- Experience with public health databases (DHIS2, OpenMRS).
- Strong communication skills for cross-cultural collaboration.
- Knowledge of Malawi’s healthcare landscape.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field. Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are a plus.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in public health research or data analysis. Prior experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is preferred but not required.
Salary
1,200,000 – 1,800,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
