Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydrometallurgical Engineer to lead our chemical extraction processes at our Mchinji facility. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize hydrometallurgical flowsheets to maximize metal recovery rates.
  • Oversee the operation of leaching, filtration, and purification circuits.
  • Conduct detailed mass and energy balance calculations to improve process efficiency.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex chemical process deviations.
  • Implement advanced process control strategies to stabilize plant output.
  • Collaborate with the environmental team to manage reagent consumption and waste neutralization.
  • Mentor junior metallurgists and plant operators to foster a culture of technical excellence.

Education

A Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree alone will not be considered for this senior-level position.

Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 to 10 years of direct experience in hydrometallurgical plant operations, preferably within a large-scale copper or nickel mining operation. Proven track record in process optimization and cost reduction is essential.

Salary
