Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Senior Laboratory Microbiologist to lead our microbiological testing protocols at our Mchinji facility. This role is critical to ensuring the safety and quality of our beverage products through rigorous testing, analysis, and compliance monitoring. The successful candidate will oversee the laboratory operations, manage complex microbiological assays, and ensure that all processes align with international food safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all microbiological testing procedures for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Develop and implement advanced microbiological testing protocols to ensure compliance with international food safety standards.
- Oversee the maintenance and calibration of sophisticated laboratory equipment used in microbial analysis.
- Analyze complex data sets to identify trends, potential contamination risks, and areas for process improvement.
- Manage and mentor junior laboratory technicians and quality assurance staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) protocols.
- Collaborate with the production and supply chain teams to resolve any quality deviations immediately.

- Advanced expertise in microbial identification, culture techniques, and aseptic laboratory procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex scientific data.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and international quality management systems.

Education
A Master of Science in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a closely related scientific field is mandatory. A PhD is considered a significant advantage for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of professional experience in a high-volume food or beverage laboratory setting. Proven experience in managing laboratory teams and implementing quality control systems is essential.
