Job Overview

The Network Planning Manager will lead the design, planning, and optimization of Airtel’s radio access network (RAN) in the Nkhata Bay region and beyond. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive network rollout plans for 4G LTE and future 5G deployments in Nkhata Bay and surrounding districts.
  • Conduct radio frequency (RF) planning, capacity forecasting, and site acquisition analyses using industry‑standard tools such as Atoll, Planet, or Mentum.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and construction teams to ensure timely delivery of infrastructure projects.
  • Monitor network performance metrics, identify optimization opportunities, and implement corrective actions to meet KPI targets.
  • Prepare cost‑benefit analyses, budget forecasts, and resource allocation models for network projects.
  • Liaise with the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) to secure spectrum licenses and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Lead cross‑functional workshops with product, marketing, and sales teams to align network capabilities with market demand.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices in network design and optimization.
  • Produce detailed technical documentation, project reports, and executive presentations for senior leadership.

Required Skills
