Job Overview

The Battery Systems Integration Engineer will lead the design, testing, and deployment of large‑scale battery storage projects that complement solar and wind farms throughout Malawi. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end‑to‑end integration of battery storage systems, from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop technical specifications, system architecture, and performance models for battery projects.
  • Coordinate with solar and wind engineers to ensure optimal hybrid system design.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, site assessments, and grid impact analyses.
  • Manage procurement, vendor selection, and contract negotiations for battery components.

  • Collaborate with local utilities and the Energy Regulatory Authority to secure interconnection agreements.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in battery management systems (BMS) and power electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of grid codes, renewable integration standards, and energy storage regulations.
  • Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PSS®E, or HOMER.

Education

Experience
