We are seeking an experienced Industrial Robotics Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of robotic systems within our manufacturing facilities in Balaka. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, program, and commission industrial robotic cells for assembly, packaging, and material handling.
  • Collaborate with production engineers to assess automation needs and develop scalable solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost‑benefit analyses, and risk assessments for robotics projects.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for existing robotic systems.
  • Train local operators and maintenance staff on safe operation and routine upkeep of robotic equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with international safety standards (ISO 10218, IEC 61508) and local regulations.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in robot programming languages (e.g., RAPID, KRL, FANUC, ABB).
  • Strong knowledge of PLC integration, vision systems, and motion control.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, RoboDK).
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities and analytical mindset.
  • Effective communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications in robotics, automation, or industrial engineering are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of hands‑on experience in industrial robotics integration, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Experience with lean manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives is an advantage.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 2,500,000 – 3,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
