Job Overview

The Public Policy Analyst will support the design, analysis, and evaluation of policy initiatives that align with Malawi’s national development strategies. Working within the Policy & Research department, you will collaborate with senior economists, sector specialists, and government officials to produce evidence‑based recommendations that inform project design and financing decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis of existing and proposed public policies.
• Develop policy briefs, technical reports, and presentation materials for senior management and government partners.
• Coordinate stakeholder workshops and consultations to gather insights and build consensus.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of implemented policies, providing actionable feedback for program adjustments.
• Support the preparation of funding proposals and grant agreements aligned with World Bank financing criteria.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regional development trends, regulatory frameworks, and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate policy findings into project implementation plans.

Required Skills

• Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, R, or Python).

Education

A Master’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Development Studies, or a closely related discipline is required. Candidates with additional certifications in data analytics or project management will be given preference.

Experience

Experience working with government ministries, NGOs, or multilateral institutions in Malawi or the broader Southern Africa region is highly desirable.
