Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Development Analyst will support the end‑to‑end development of renewable energy projects, from feasibility studies to financial modeling and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical and economic feasibility studies for solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects.
• Develop detailed financial models, including cash flow projections, IRR, and NPV analyses.
• Prepare project documentation, including feasibility reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory submissions.
• Coordinate with local authorities, landowners, and community leaders to secure project permits and land use agreements.
• Support the preparation of tender packages and evaluate bids from EPC contractors.
• Monitor project milestones, budgets, and timelines, providing regular status updates to senior management.
• Identify and assess potential risks, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure project viability.
• Collaborate with the Business Development team to source new project opportunities and partnerships.

Required Skills

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and financial modeling software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of preparing clear reports and presentations.
• Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, market trends, and regulatory frameworks in Malawi.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency in project management tools and techniques.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging government agencies and local communities.

Education

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in project finance, sustainable energy, or related fields are considered an advantage.

Experience

Applicants should have 3‑5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, project finance, or related analytical roles. Experience within the African energy market, particularly in Malawi, is highly desirable.

Salary
