Job Overview

As a Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and managing the financial aspects of renewable energy projects in Malawi. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for solar, wind, and hydro projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cash‑flow analysis, and sensitivity testing.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, pitch decks, and financing proposals for lenders and investors.
  • Coordinate due‑diligence processes, including legal, technical, and environmental assessments.
  • Negotiate financing terms with banks, development finance institutions, and equity partners.
  • Monitor project performance, track key financial metrics, and report to senior management.
  • Support risk management strategies and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to align financial assumptions with technical realities.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modelling, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies and market dynamics.
  • Experience with project finance structures, debt/equity financing, and PPAs.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Chichewa is an advantage.

Education

A Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or FRM are highly desirable.

Experience

Minimum of five years’ experience in project finance, preferably within the renewable energy sector, with a proven track record of successfully closing large‑scale transactions.

Salary

The competitive salary range for this role is SSP 2,500,000 to SSP 3,500,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives may be offered.
