Job Overview
The Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and managing financing solutions for renewable energy projects across Malawi. Reporting to the Head of Project Finance, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external investors, and development partners to ensure the successful execution of financing packages that meet both commercial and sustainability objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed financial modeling and feasibility analysis for solar, wind, hydro, and hybrid energy projects.
- Prepare comprehensive credit proposals, risk assessments, and investment memoranda for senior management and investment committees.
- Coordinate due‑diligence processes, liaising with legal, technical, and environmental advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Structure financing solutions, including debt, equity, and blended finance mechanisms, tailored to project-specific risk profiles.
- Monitor portfolio performance, track key financial metrics, and prepare periodic reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support negotiations with lenders, investors, and government agencies to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Stay abreast of market trends, policy developments, and emerging financing instruments in the renewable energy sector.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel and specialized finance software.
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting to senior leadership.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. Candidates holding a Master’s degree in Finance, Renewable Energy Finance, or an MBA with a focus on sustainable finance will be given preference.
Experience
Applicants should possess 3‑5 years of relevant experience in project finance, investment banking, or corporate finance, with demonstrable exposure to renewable energy projects. Experience working within a banking environment and familiarity with local regulatory requirements are advantageous.
Salary
