Job Overview
The Senior Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire quality management system within our Mzuzu production facility. This role is essential for ensuring that all manufacturing processes, raw materials, and finished products adhere to strict regulatory and internal standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive quality assurance protocols across all production lines.
- Lead and mentor a team of quality control technicians and laboratory staff.
- Conduct regular audits of raw material suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards.
- Manage the laboratory testing schedule for all chemical and lubricant batches.
- Investigate non-conformance reports and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with the production department to optimize manufacturing efficiency without compromising quality.
- Ensure full compliance with local and international food and chemical safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Advanced expertise in ISO 9001 and other international quality management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex chemical data.
- Excellent leadership and team management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) methodologies.
- Strong communication skills for reporting to senior management and external auditors.
Education
A Master’s Degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline is mandatory. A Bachelor’s degree with significant specialized experience may be considered in exceptional cases.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within a manufacturing environment. Proven experience in managing laboratory operations and leading technical teams is highly desirable. We are looking for individuals who have successfully navigated complex regulatory landscapes in the African market.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 850,000 SSP to 1,200,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and qualifications.
