Job Overview
We are seeking a highly proficient Senior Structural Engineer to join our technical leadership team in Zomba. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the structural design and analysis for large-scale infrastructure projects using advanced computational tools.
- Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and structural calculations produced by junior engineers.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure construction activities align with approved structural designs and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and site supervisors to resolve complex engineering challenges.
- Ensure all engineering activities adhere to strict environmental and safety regulations.
- Provide mentorship and technical oversight to a team of junior and mid-level engineers.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or STAAD.Pro.
- In-depth knowledge of Eurocodes and local Malawian building regulations.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities regarding complex load-bearing structures.
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
Education
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. Professional registration with the relevant engineering regulatory body in Malawi is highly preferred. Candidates with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering will be given priority.
Experience
Applicants must possess a minimum of seven years of professional experience in structural design and construction management. Proven experience in managing large-scale infrastructure projects from conception to completion is essential. Salary
