Job Overview
The Solar Project Finance Analyst will be responsible for structuring, modeling, and managing the financial aspects of solar power projects from inception through operation. Working closely with the project development, engineering, and legal teams, you will evaluate investment opportunities, prepare detailed financial models, and support the acquisition of financing from local and international lenders. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models for solar projects, including cash flow, debt service, and return on investment analyses.
- Conduct feasibility studies, sensitivity analyses, and risk assessments to support investment decisions.
- Prepare comprehensive financing packages, term sheets, and investor presentations for local banks, development finance institutions, and private equity partners.
- Coordinate due diligence processes, liaising with legal, tax, and technical advisors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project financial performance, track key metrics, and provide regular reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
- Assist in negotiating loan agreements, equity structures, and other financing terms to secure optimal funding conditions.
- Stay updated on market trends, policy changes, and financing mechanisms relevant to renewable energy in Malawi and the broader region.
- Support the preparation of grant applications and participation in public‑private partnership initiatives.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CFA, CPA, or FRM is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
Experience
Minimum of five years of experience in project finance, investment analysis, or financial advisory, preferably within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors. Demonstrated experience in structuring debt and equity financing for large‑scale projects is essential.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 1,200,000 to SSP 1,800,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The package includes performance‑based bonuses and other incentives aligned with company goals.
