Job Overview

The Sustainable Urban Planner will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the Government of Malawi in the development of sustainable urban planning policies and strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with government officials, urban planners, and other stakeholders to identify and address urban development challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to the Government of Malawi in the development of sustainable urban planning policies and strategies
  • Conduct urban planning assessments and analysis to identify areas of improvement
  • Develop and implement urban planning projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with government officials, urban planners, and other stakeholders to achieve urban development goals
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of urban planning projects and initiatives

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning or related field
  • 8-12 years of experience in urban planning and development
  • Strong technical skills in urban planning, including spatial analysis and data visualization
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build strong relationships with stakeholders

Education

The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field from a recognized university.

Experience

The successful candidate must have at least 8 years of experience in urban planning and development, with a strong track record of delivering results-oriented projects and initiatives.

Salary

The salary for this position is 500,000 – 700,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
