Job Overview

As a Biodiversity Conservation Officer, you will lead field-based initiatives to monitor and protect Malawi’s endemic species, including the Lake Malawi cichlids and Miombo woodlands. This role combines scientific research, stakeholder collaboration, and community education to advance conservation goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct biodiversity surveys and ecological assessments in Nkhotakota’s protected areas
  • Develop and implement conservation action plans for threatened species and habitats
  • Coordinate with local communities, NGOs, and government agencies on sustainable resource management
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of conservation interventions
  • Design educational programs to raise awareness about biodiversity protection

Required Skills

  • Expertise in field data collection and GIS mapping techniques

Education

Salary

1,200,000 – 1,800,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
