Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for new renewable energy projects.
- Monitor compliance with Malawian environmental laws and international sustainability standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies for permits, audits, and reporting requirements.
- Develop and implement environmental management plans for construction and operational phases.
- Engage with local communities to address environmental concerns and promote conservation practices.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in environmental compliance for energy or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Malawi’s environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards.
- Proficiency in environmental data analysis and GIS mapping tools.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Fluency in English and Chichewa.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years in environmental compliance, preferably within energy or construction sectors.
- Experience managing cross-border environmental projects advantageous.
Salary
3,000,000 – 4,500,000 SSP annually, commensurate with experience.
