Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist to join our team in Mangochi, Malawi. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental impact assessments for infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, and other public works.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for infrastructure projects
- Develop and implement environmental management plans
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure environmental considerations are integrated into project design and implementation
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on environmental issues
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and policies in Malawi
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Education
A Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field is required. A Ph.D. in Environmental Science or related field is an asset.
Experience
8-12 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and management is required. Experience working in Malawi or other African countries is an asset.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50000-70000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
