Job Overview

The Artificial Intelligence Ethics Officer will lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of ethical frameworks for AI solutions deployed by Microsoft Malawi and its partners. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an AI ethics framework aligned with international standards such as OECD AI Principles and Microsoft’s Responsible AI guidelines.
• Conduct AI impact assessments for new and existing AI projects, identifying potential risks related to bias, privacy, and societal impact.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle.
• Provide training and workshops for internal teams on responsible AI practices and ethical decision‑making.
• Engage with regulators, civil society, and academic institutions to stay abreast of emerging AI policies in Malawi and the broader African region.
• Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on AI ethics compliance and risk mitigation strategies.

Required Skills
