We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Agronomy Consultant to lead our technical advisory services in the Mchinji region. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive crop management protocols to maximize yield and quality.
- Conduct extensive soil analysis and provide data-driven fertilization recommendations.
- Lead field training sessions for local farmers on modern pest and disease management.
- Monitor seasonal crop performance and provide technical troubleshooting for field issues.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure crop quality meets export standards.
- Analyze agricultural data to forecast production volumes and identify potential risks.
Required Skills
- Advanced knowledge of tropical crop physiology and soil chemistry.
- Proficiency in using GIS and precision agriculture technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities in a field environment.
- Excellent communication skills for training diverse groups of stakeholders.

Education
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Pathology, or a closely related agricultural science field is mandatory. A Master’s degree or specialized certification in soil science is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess at least 5 to 7 years of professional experience in agronomic consulting or large-scale commercial farm management. Proven experience working with smallholder farmer networks or international agribusinesses is a significant advantage. You should have a track record of successfully implementing sustainable intensification practices.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 850,000 SSP to 1,200,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and technical certifications. This package is competitive within the current employment in Malawi market.
