We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Procurement Officer to join our growing team in Mzuzu. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to ensure continuous availability of essential raw materials.
- Negotiate complex commercial terms and pricing with local and international vendors to achieve cost savings.
- Monitor supplier performance against established KPIs to ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to streamline inbound supply chain processes.
- Identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks through proactive market analysis.
- Ensure all procurement activities adhere to international ethical standards and local regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Advanced negotiation and contract management capabilities.
- Deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics and procurement software.
- Strong analytical skills for cost-benefit analysis and spend management.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, preferably within the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector. Proven experience in managing large-scale vendor portfolios and navigating complex international trade regulations is essential for success in this role.
Salary
The monthly gross salary for this position ranges from 850,000 SSP to 1,200,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
