Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our team in Lilongwe, Malawi. As an Environmental Consultant, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing conservation projects that promote sustainable environmental practices and protect Malawi’s rich biodiversity. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental assessments and develop conservation plans that align with AWF’s goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to design and implement conservation projects
  • Develop and implement sustainable land-use plans that balance conservation and development goals
  • Provide technical expertise and support to AWF’s conservation teams
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conservation projects

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of environmental conservation principles and practices
  • Experience in conducting environmental assessments and developing conservation plans
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with local communities and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in GIS and spatial analysis

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field.

Experience

2-3 years of experience in environmental conservation, preferably in a similar role.

Salary

MWK 800,000 – 1,200,000 per month.
