Job Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and results-oriented Senior Procurement Manager to lead our complex sourcing operations in the Mzuzu region. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive procurement strategies that align with Wilmar Africa’s long-term growth objectives.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of procurement specialists and buyers to ensure operational excellence.
- Negotiate complex, high-value contracts with international and local suppliers to secure optimal pricing and terms.
- Implement rigorous supplier performance evaluation frameworks to ensure quality and compliance with international standards.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive market analysis and strategic contingency planning.
- Collaborate with the logistics and finance departments to optimize inventory turnover and cash flow management.
Required Skills
- Advanced negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing multi-million dollar contracts.
- Deep understanding of international trade regulations, customs, and import/export documentation.
- Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and advanced data analytics tools.

Education
A Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is mandatory. Candidates without a Master’s degree must possess a Bachelor’s degree and significant specialized professional certification (such as CIPS) and extensive leadership experience.
Experience
A minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management is required. At least 4 years of this experience must be in a senior management capacity within a large-scale manufacturing or wholesale distribution environment. Salary
