Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement training programs on sustainable farming techniques, including agroforestry and soil conservation.
  • Collaborate with local farmers to adopt climate-resilient agricultural practices.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of agricultural interventions on productivity and environmental sustainability.
  • Coordinate with government agencies and NGOs to align programs with national agricultural policies.
  • Provide technical support for the distribution of drought-resistant seeds and organic fertilizers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in agricultural extension services or rural development projects.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainable farming practices and Malawi’s agricultural challenges.

  • Proficiency in data collection and reporting for program evaluation.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, Rural Development, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is an advantage.

Experience

3–5 years of experience in agricultural extension, rural development, or community-based projects. Experience working with NGOs or international organizations is preferred.

Salary

1,200,000 – 1,600,000 SSP per month, commensurate with experience.
